Sunday Service

11.00am GMT

Sunday services are conducted by a First and Second Reader and include music, hymns, prayer, and the Weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson. This lesson is comprised of readings from our Pastor — the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Christian Scientists around the world study the Bible Lesson throughout the week.

Order of Sunday Service

1. Hymn.

2. Reading a Scriptural Selection.

3. Silent Prayer, followed by the audible repetition of the Lord’s Prayer with its spiritual interpretation.

4. Hymn.

5. Announcing necessary notices.

6. Solo.

7. Reading the Explanatory Note on first leaf of Quarterly.

8. Announcing the subject of the Lesson-Sermon, and reading the Golden Text.

9. Reading the Scriptural Selection, entitled “Responsive Reading,” alternately by the First Reader and the congregation.

10. Reading the Lesson-Sermon.

11. Voluntary collection.

12. Hymn.

13. Reading the Scientific Statement of Being, and the correlative SCRIPTURE according to I John 3:1–3.

14. Pronouncing Benediction.

*On the last Sunday of each month we have an informal gathering after the church service with tea and cake. We would love you to join us in person.

Wednesday Testimony Meeting

7.45pm GMT

At Wednesday testimony meetings, you’ll hear hymns and readings specially selected for the day from the Christian Science Pastor—the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy.

At the start of the service the player above will go live and you can watch the whole meeting right here on the website. After 30 -40 minutes there is an opportunity to join a Zoom meeting to share healings and gratitude based on your study of Christian Science. When indicated in the meeting please click the red button and follow the on-screen instructions to join Zoom. If you choose to keep your camera off you will not appear on the livestream but can still give an audio only testimony.

3. Silent Prayer, followed by the audible repetition of the Lord’s Prayer, its spiritual interpretation being omitted.

4. Hymn.

This half hour talk on Christian Science by Melanie Wahlberg, CS is brought to you by various Christian Science churches and societies from across the UK.

When we feel overwhelmed by life’s problems, we may want to try to get more from the world. But when we do the opposite–give more of ourselves or focus on the God-given qualities we already have to express or contribute, we find that we end up not lacking anything. Really, we gain the unexpected good of joy, health, and strength that move our lives and the world forward.
